About the role

HINA’s AI Engineers build both the core AI Expert Hearing product and AI and software that advance healthcare transformation. The product supports one-to-one expert interviews from preparation through voice sessions, transcription and structured minutes.

You will also work with hospitals and healthcare businesses on operational, information and decision-making challenges, designing and delivering solutions with generative AI, automation and operational systems.

The role spans web, APIs, real-time voice, LLMs, data platforms and cloud operations, moving delivery forward between product and business teams.

This is a hybrid role combining remote and in-person work. In-person activities may include customer visits, on-site discovery, implementation support and team meetings. Locations and frequency will be agreed according to your responsibilities.

What you’ll achieve

  • Build Next.js / React web applications and Hono / Node.js APIs.
  • Implement and improve voice experiences using browser WebSockets, Realtime APIs, STT and TTS.
  • Improve interview workflows—from questions and materials to consent, invitations, transcripts and minutes—with real users.
  • Build prompts, evaluations, logs and guardrails that continuously improve response quality and safety.
  • Drive healthcare transformation projects from requirements through delivery and iteration.
  • Build trusted healthcare foundations including authorization, audit logs, data deletion and operational monitoring.

  • AI & speech: OpenAI / Azure OpenAI / Realtime API / Whisper / TTS / Azure AI Speech
  • Data: Prisma / Azure SQL / Cosmos DB / Azure Blob Storage / LanceDB and Azure AI Search
  • Infrastructure: Azure Container Apps / Service Bus / Docker / Azure Bicep

Skills you’ll bring

  • 3+ years building web applications or APIs with TypeScript and Node.js.
  • Experience building products with React or Next.js.
  • Backend experience with REST APIs, WebSockets and asynchronous processing.
  • Experience integrating OpenAI, Azure OpenAI or equivalent LLMs into a product.
  • Experience with schema design and data access using an RDBMS and ORM.
  • Experience operating containerized applications in a cloud environment.
  • Ability to turn conversations with customers and non-engineers into implementable requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience building speech recognition, speech synthesis, real-time conversation or voice agents.
  • Experience with Azure Container Apps, Azure SQL, Azure AI Speech, Service Bus or Blob Storage.
  • Experience with Prisma, SQL Server, Cosmos DB or search infrastructure.
  • Experience building in healthcare or another environment where security and auditability matter.
